More than 1,800 Bears fans weighed in on the state of the franchise, and the frustration of the past season (or past few decades) came through in some responses.

But so did hope. Hope that Roquan Smith puts it together and has a breakout season, that Cole Kmet could be an impact player for this team, and that there are enough current players whose jerseys are worth wearing instead of Bears greats from 2006, 1985 or 1963.

What isn’t giving fans a ton of confidence is the quarterback situation, which is a sentence any Bears beat writer could have written for most seasons in the history of the franchise. That’s where our survey begins.
